Here is a delicious beverage that you’re going to love. Its a cross between a latte and a smoothie and is great at breakfast time or as a snack.
It uses soaked almonds to reduce phytic acid and boost mineral absorption. Read all about that here.
In particular, I love the anti-inflammatory benefits of almonds. Also, for some individuals, coffee can be anti-inflammatory as well. Not everyone can benefit from the caffeine in coffee however, so if you are sensitive to it, I suggest you use chai tea in this recipe.
Once you try it, let me know how you like it!!
This is a delicious morning beverage that has a balance between healthy fats, carbs and a bit of protein. Soaking the almonds before making it helps them to blend up more easily. To make a complete breakfast, add a bit more protein.
- 1/4 cup almonds soaked overnight and rinsed
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup strong coffee, cold or chai tea if you prefer
- 1/2 banana frozen
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until almonds are smooth. Add ice if desired. Enjoy!
