Chocolate Frosty

We have all had a fast-food milkshake at some point. And they are delicious and addictive, and unfortunately also full of excess sugars and other processed ingredients.

For instance, Wendy’s Restaurants lists the ingredient‘s in its frosty as being:

Milk, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Cream, Whey, Nonfat Dry Milk, Cocoa (Processed With Alkali), Guar Gum, Mono And Diglycerides, Cellulose Gum, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Carrageenan, Calcium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Dextrose, Vitamin A Palmitate

We definitely don’t need all of that in our diet!… the second and third ingredients¬†are both refined sugar. Add to that the food additives for emulsifying and thickening, and “Natural” (i.e. “fake) vanilla flavour, and this fast food beverage is far from healthy.

Here is a recipe¬†that will leave you with all the delicious flavour you are craving without all the “extras”.

And in this recipe, the anti-inflammatory benefits of the cocoa are not offset by artificial ingredients. So you can enjoy this tasty treat and reap the health benefits.
